Robert Jackson is the president of the Association for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (ATESOL) NSW and the Australian Council of TESOL Associations (ACTA). He holds a doctorate in English Literature from the University of Sydney and an MA TESOL from the University of Technology Sydney. He works for the Open Training and Education Network of TAFE Western Sydney Institute and the NSW Board of Studies.

 

Gill Pennington is currently vice president of ATESOL NSW and is also editor of the quarterly Newsletter. She is employed by the NSW Department of Education and Training as a Multicultural/ESL consultant in South Western Sydney Region, supporting primary teachers in the development of programs for young ESL learners. Gill completed her Masters of Education in TESOL at the University of Canberra in 2006, where she developed her interest in storytelling as a cultural practice. Since then she has presented papers at ACTA and ALEA conferences on the value of engaging with stories in the language classroom.
