Scientific Program
The major focus of the ACMHN
2008 Conference is the art of mental health nursing
in the age of technology and science and the
Conference program is designed to inspire this
through critical examination of both our past and
our future.
Mental Health Nursing in the age of technology will
be explored by our presenters with a strong focus on
the use of art and technology in delivering better
care for consumers and innovative clinical practice
/ education for practitioners. Delivery will be
highlighted through the exploration of five themes
• The use of art and
science in preparing the mental health nursing
work force • Consumer advocacy:
narrative, visual and technological strategies • Leadership in mental
health • Our global community of
mental health workers: bringing our communities
together • Mental health nursing
practice / research: An art or a science?
We look forward to welcoming you to Melbourne.
